The Palawan Orphanage Project, located in the Philippines, is our next mission which runs through August. Children here are victims of domestic and military abuse and exploitation.
Missions is collecting any hotel/motel soaps, shampoos, and lotions. These will go to Hope Center located in Waukesha. They are sponsored solely by churches and individuals. A collection box can be found in the Gathering Area.

Many children will be happily reading books you donated either by bringing in new and gently used books or by filling the offering plate with change. You donated 25 books and Missions bought more books with the money you so generously gave.
February 2011 One Month Mission
Human Relations Day is one of six UM Special Sundays. We are going to try something different...Human Relations Month. Each Sunday in February you can contribute by putting change in the offering plate and/or the Special Sunday envelopes you will find in the bulletins.
March 2011 One Month Mission
We will again try something different. The month of March has been set aside for One Great Hour of Sharing. The money collected in March goes to UMCOR, United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR brings relief when catastrophe strikes. They rush to disaster areas all over the world with aid. But, along with food, clothing, shelter, and medical help, UMCOR stays behind to help survivors rebuild their lives.

Loose change and checks will support this mission which was started by the Wisconsin Conference UMW in 2008. Our outreach will provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to Hmong elders in the Milwaukee area.
Please help fill the crate located in the narthex with yarn, material, buttons, thread, and artificial flowers. The women love to sew and make crafts.
